Production costs for KLODS shows are always kept under tight control. Never-the-less, amateur shows always strive to be professional. If your business or company would like to sponsor a show for our community group featuring local casts, crews and organisers, it will do more than just cover a budget. It will help our group survive for those involved now and in future, as well as for the many people of King’s Lynn who benefit from a good night of affordable local entertainment.  Additionally, it will also help support the arts venues of King’s Lynn which are under the constant threat of austerity cuts.

In return, KLODS try to generate as much publicity as possible for our sponsors and feature company logos on all advertising as and when any agreement is made. Please click on the image below for an example.

Please get in touch via our contact page if you or your company would be generous enough to sponsor one of our two productions each year.  If you would like to see your company’s logo on a poster.

Room Hire

KLODS are one of the only community groups in West Norfolk lucky enough to own our headquarters. We are happy to offer the rooms for hire to other community groups at very competitive rates.

Situated in the heart of the Arts Centre, within Kings Lynn town centre, the rooms can accommodate a reasonable amount of people. While KLODS regularly use them for rehearsals, they have been used by other groups as rehearsal spaces for small to moderate sized orchestras, examination rooms, overspill dressing rooms for the Arts Centre, as well as meeting rooms for a number of organisations.

The rooms were built in the 1930’s and have been well preserved. Kitchenette, rehearsal room, hallway and toilets have recently been subject to renovation and redecoration. With luck, plans are also underway to replace the gas boiler with a modern electric heating system.  Please note that due to the age of the building and strict planning restrictions (preservation area), disabled access is possible but not perfect due to steps. Disabled toilets are available at the adjacent Arts Centre.  Any function that will involve the serving of food is restricted. Food must be prepared off site for licensing reasons.

All hiring proceeds go to the headquarters maintenance fund and building running costs. Please get in touch via our contact page for availability, rates and terms and conditions.

If you would like to support KLODS with a small donation, all you have to do is become a patron.  We welcome a minimum donation of £5.00 to become a patron. Our patron list is regularly published in all of our production programmes and on the website. All patrons are invited to join ‘The Presidents Club’ fund raising lunches, with many guests often being long term members.

Please do get in touch via the contact page to submit your details, and we will send you the rest.

Get Involved

KLODS always welcome enthusiastic people who want to give amateur theatre a try! All of our auditions are OPEN to members and non-members alike.  Whether on or off the stage, there is always something to do. The best times to contact us are mid summer and just after Christmas–as this is when our shows really start to gear up behind the scenes. While all lighting and sound is deftly handled by The Corn Exchange technical crew, assistance with scenery, props, advertising, publicity and anything and everything that pops up along the way is always needed.  Please drop us a line on our contact page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

As a member of KLODS you will receive newsletters to keep you up to date with all of our productions and activities, either by email or paper letter.  Standard yearly membership for KLODS (April to April) is £20 for adults and £10 for persons under the age of 18.  All membership fees contribute towards production budgets and maintenance of headquarters.
